Blackberry Angel : Char Design

This is a rough character design for the "Blackberry Angel."

I was recently asked to be part of a cosplay help/advice/design team and we got to pick a berry to represent ourselves - I'm quite harsh sometimes (thorny), very detail-oriented and nitpicky (lots of little seeds), my favourite colours are black and dark purples, and I love to eat blackberries, so of course it was a bit of a no-brainer. Part of the underlying character design is based on Galatea from the anime Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, since she's by far my favourite female character from any anime and its one of the nicknames I go by.

I also didn't know whether or not it'd be cuter to go with chibi angel wings or full on angel wings, so I drew it half-and-half. The gloves feature a sort of tribal/art nouveau thorny bramble design, with a bangle of actual thorns on one wrist. The belt around her mid-section is comprised of leaf-shaped sections, and the bottom parts of her dress feature some severe tattering. The way her hair falls into loose waves/curls also sort of mimics the shape of a blackberry.
