This was my very first attempt at anything even vaguely like this. I didn't even really know how to sew when I started, but I had gotten pretty good at it by the end. I made it without the use of a pattern, I developed that in my mind as I went along - I blame my experience with 3d modeling software for my success in that.
I made this prop because in the UK, anime conventions are very strict about what you can carry around with you. So a weapon was out of the question really. Seeing as I'm a Sephiroth cosplayer, I thought it would be appropriate and fun to carry around Mother's severed head.
I love this!! All of it!! It is so original, and quite humorous!!
Oh, and 3D work really does help ~ I took years of CAD in High School, and I think it made a difference with my understanding of sewing, because everything is 2D first, and then you build the model off of that

Thanks for saying as much! I've seen your plushies before and I think they're fantastic. Especially the giant Sephiroth and the Kamineko Sakaki (eeee!!!!)... I'd love to have a giant Sephiroth, but shipping to the UK would be murder for sure!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
